Bible in Schools

This past school year I (Jillian) had the opportunity to teach Bible in Schools with my Mom! We had kids in year two and three, which is like grade one and two in the states! We were able to teach them many lessons from and the Bible and given them the gospel! They memorized many verses and also enjoyed scripture songs! We did a lot with songs and crafts because trying to keep there attention for five minutes of teaching is a long time!
Over the year we got to know a lot of the children. We see them at Breakfast in Schools; when we are out doing ministry in the neighborhood; shopping; or whatever. They call us Wheae Dawn and Wheae Jillian; which is Maori for "mother" and they use it as a term of respect for all their female teachers and those in high authority. We really grow to love the kids and enjoy them and they also enjoyed the attention that we were able to give them as we were always there early and would stand around talking with them before school started! We would walk onto the school property and just be totally surrounded by kids!
Many of the kids now come to our Bible Club and their sisters and brothers have also started coming so thats been great! The teacher in the class, Wheae Lovey, always listened to the lessons and come to find out she had them sining the songs we taught the kids all the way through the week! On the very last day of Bible in Schools there was an assembly and all the classes sang songs or told about something they had learned over the year.  Wheae Lovey stopped my Mom before school started and asked if we could sing, "In My Hand I Hold a Book?" And she said she really liked that one!
So, we continue to pray for all the kids that the Lord will save them and also for Wheae Lovey as she has heard the gospel many times now!

It was a great year of Bible in Schools and right now we are on summer break but I look forward to starting back in March 2011!

Hello Everyone!

I was just thinking I would upload some recent pictures of our church for you all. We have been blessed with a few faithful people and we have visitors a lot of Sundays. There is one man that my Dad has been teaching and discipling and he takes turns with Matthew teaching fortnightly before my Dad preaches. So that's great!

Hello Again...

Hello to all of our blog readers! I know its been a while since we have posted and I apologize for that! I do have many things I would like to post about but I have been so busy over the last few weeks that there just not been time for the blog. The Snyders are all doing very well and continuing to serve the Lord Jesus over here in New Zealand! A lady got saved just a few weeks back so that was a blessing! Our house continues to always be full of neighborhood kids and Bible Club and Church attendance have been rising, which is always a blessing! Two weeks ago we finished up school and are now on summer holiday (Yes, it's summer in NZ!). The Lord has provided a house for us that is not far from where we currently living. It is much bigger and has much cheaper rent which will be a blessing! So we are starting to pack and we move on December 27th!

Now for the project that has been keeping me so very busy! Emmaline and I have made a 2011 Calendar to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible! On each page is facts about the translation, translators, King James I, and much more! We have also started a business named 1611 Press which you can visit at that link! That is our first product and as we add products we will let you know! Everything will be shipped from New York and we can only ship within the United States as of now! If you live outside the United States you can get in contact with me and we will see if we can arrange shipping for you! So go ahead over and see what you think and we hope the Calendars are a blessing to you all!

A few weeks ago we had to rent a second car to go to the city and get new passports so then we took the afternoon off and went to the beach! We took one girl from our neighborhood that was over and we had a great time. We all had fun playing in the sand, the water, and relaxing! So here's a few pictures of our from afternoon!

Cookies

Last Saturday we had two of our club kids over to make cookies! Irini is ten and Shikiel is 8 and they had a great time making cookies for Bible Club with us! And we all enjoyed too! I love working with these sweet Maori kids! So here is a few pictures from the afternoon!

Visitors from the States

For three weeks at the end of September and the beginning of October we had the blessing of having the Clementsons visit us. They are a young couple from the States who are traveling all over the world helping missionaries. They helped out with Bible Club, letter boxing, street preaching, door knocking, and much more. It was a blessing to have them here; we all greatly enjoyed them!
