We are all doing well here in New Zealand. We have been busy with school, as usual. And, of course, we're all busy holding Linda just as often as we are allowed to!!! We, the girls, have been enjoying having a big kitchen again to cook in!!! We have been baking like mad since we have been here. We've made Cinamin rolls, Dinner Roll, Biskets (American) Lots of Bread, and Cookies by the ton (of course:). The boys have just finished a bunk bed that they made for themselves, which they had great fun making. They have also been quite busy with their lawn business.
Our ministry is slowly getting started here as we are about settled in now. We have been busy with letter boxing. For those who do not know it is legal for us to put tracts in the letter boxes here (mail boxes in the states). So, we letter box an area and then a few days latter we go back and knock on the door. Two weeks ago, we were down on King Street (the main street in town) and a couple walked up to Mom, after recieving a tract from one of the younger kids, and told her they had read the tract that was put in thier letter box and liked it. They said they had gotten saved in another town under another American missionary, then they had moved here a couple of years ago and had not been able to find, "a church without all that worldly junk," as they worded it. They said they would visit, but we have not seen them yet. Hopefully we will see them soon. Oh, we did have our first visitors at Bible study this week, so that was great. They were some of our next door neighbors that have befriended us so well since we moved in.
Yesterday and today the weather has been warm! It's almost like spring is here, but I know we are headed into winter. For the last few weeks its been raining and cold here. The weather is so odd here and it is taking some getting used to. It will rain for a few minutes and when it does, it really pores. Often when the rain comes in you can here it coming down the road as it comes down so hard and most of the houses have tin roofs. (Praise God we have a clay roof or it would be really loud when it rains.) Then with in minutes it will be gone and the sun will be shinning again. It may not seem like much, but when it does that six to ten times a day, it becomes not so nice. And even worse is when you are trying to dry laundry and every time it starts to rain you have to run out and get the laundry off the line. Though it is beautiful after it rains, as there is often a rainbow! And in the evening there is often a bueatiful sun set!
The beautiful sunset from our front porch last night.
